Liutiaogou Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The type section is located to the south of the Liutiaogou of the Jingxing County, Heilongjiang Province, and the reference section is situated at Chaganchulu of the Zalaite Banner. It was named by Liu Guochang et al. in 1951, and was cited officially by Sheng Jinzhang in 1962.
Lithology and Thickness
Limestone and clastics. Grey and dark-grey bioclastic sparite, cherty-banded limestone and siltstone, intercalated with sideritized limestone, sandy conglomerate, siliceous rocks and bituminous limestone, with an upward increase in the amount of the siliceous substances. The basal part of the formation is a cherty bioclastic limestone. Thickness is 160 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Conformable contact with the grey medium-bedded Fusulinida-yielding limestone of the underlying Sijiashan Fm
Upper contact
Disconformable contact with the overlying Sunjiafen Fm
Regional extent
Distributed in the Chaganchulu area of the Zalaite Banner, Shenshan Iron ore Mine and Limekiln, as well as in the vicinity of Bayangaole.

Fossils
Fusulinida as the Parafusulina gruperaensis, Skinnerina, Codonofusiella laxa, etc.; Corals such as Liangshanophyllum, Wentzelella, Waagenophyllum indicum, Calophyllum, etc.; and Brachiopods represented by Enteletes andrewsi, Waagenites deplanta, Spinomarginifera, Urushtenia, Haydenella, Spiriferella and Hustedia.

Depositional setting
It is interpreted as a shallow-sea facies carbonate formation.
